Overview
RestLabs is designed to be a private, offline-first gym companion. This Privacy Policy explains what information RestLabs stores, what information may be processed by third-party services, and how your data is used.
For privacy questions, contact: support@restlabs.app.
Privacy summary
RestLabs does not require an account. RestLabs does not sell your personal data. RestLabs does not use advertising trackers. RestLabs does not operate a cloud account system or store your workout history on our servers.
Most app data is stored locally on your device. Subscription purchases are handled by Apple and validated through RevenueCat so RestLabs can provide Pro access, restore purchases, and manage subscription status.
Information stored locally on your device
RestLabs stores app data locally on your device so the app can work offline and remember your preferences.
This may include rest timer settings, notification and sound preferences, workout logs you enter, exercise names, favorites, sets, reps, weights, distance, duration, content preferences, content ratings and progress, credits, collection progress, unlocked backgrounds, pack state, and app settings such as weight unit and workout tracking preferences.
This data is stored on your device. RestLabs does not upload your workout history, content progress, credits, or collection state to a RestLabs server.
You can delete locally stored app data by deleting the app from your device. Some reset options may also be available inside the app.
Subscriptions and purchases
RestLabs may offer an optional paid subscription called RestLabs Pro.
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. RestLabs does not receive or store your credit card number, debit card number, bank account details, or other payment card information.
RestLabs uses RevenueCat to help manage subscriptions. RevenueCat may process information needed to validate purchases, check subscription status, restore purchases, and provide Pro access inside the app.
This may include purchase history, subscription status, App Store receipt information, anonymous app user identifiers, or similar technical identifiers needed for subscription functionality.
This information is used to provide app functionality, manage entitlements, prevent purchase errors, and understand subscription status. It is not used by RestLabs for advertising tracking.
You can manage or cancel App Store subscriptions through your Apple ID subscription settings.
Voice capture and speech recognition
RestLabs may offer optional voice capture for workout logging.
If you use voice capture, your speech is used to help turn spoken workout entries into structured workout logs. RestLabs does not operate a server for storing or processing your voice recordings.
Voice capture may rely on speech recognition services provided by your device or operating system. You can control microphone and speech recognition permissions through your device settings.
If you do not grant microphone or speech recognition permission, you can still use RestLabs with manual workout logging.
Notifications
RestLabs may offer optional rest timer notifications.
If enabled, notifications are used to alert you when a rest timer ends. These notifications are scheduled locally on your device.
You can disable notifications inside RestLabs where available, or through your device’s system settings.
Third-party services
RestLabs uses third-party services only where needed to provide app functionality.
Apple App Store
Apple processes App Store purchases, subscriptions, cancellations, refunds, and payment information. Apple’s handling of your data is governed by Apple’s own privacy policies and App Store terms.
RevenueCat
RevenueCat is used to validate purchases, manage subscription entitlements, and support purchase restoration. RevenueCat may process purchase history, receipt data, subscription status, and technical identifiers needed for subscription functionality.
RestLabs does not use RevenueCat data for advertising tracking.
Data sharing
RestLabs does not sell your personal data.
RestLabs does not share your locally stored workout logs, rest timer data, content progress, credits, or collection state with advertisers.
Limited subscription-related data may be processed by Apple and RevenueCat as described above. This is necessary to provide purchases, subscriptions, Pro access, and restore-purchase functionality.
Data retention
Local app data remains on your device until you delete it, reset it inside the app where available, or delete the app.
Subscription and purchase records may be retained by Apple and RevenueCat according to their own legal, operational, and fraud-prevention requirements.
Children’s privacy
RestLabs is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through RestLabs, contact us at support@restlabs.app.
International users
RestLabs may be available in multiple countries or regions. Subscription-related processing by Apple and RevenueCat may occur in countries other than your own, depending on how those services operate.
Your choices
You can use RestLabs without creating an account, use the app without enabling notifications, use manual workout logging instead of voice capture, disable microphone, speech recognition, or notification permissions in system settings, delete locally stored app data by deleting the app, manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple ID settings, and contact us with privacy questions at support@restlabs.app.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will update the effective date above.
Your continued use of RestLabs after an updated Privacy Policy is posted means you accept the updated policy.
